The Best of Year 2009

Year 2009 is coming to its end. It's like I was welcoming it just yesterday and now it's ending soon. Time is ticking away, and there's nothing we can do to stop it. The only thing which we can do, is to make every minute in the day count. It's the 31st of December today, it is never too late to do it now, it is still Year 2009.

And to be frank, Year 2009 is a year of ups and downs. I don't know which outnumbers which, but it doesn't matter anymore, isn't it? I've been through all of them, and now, I guess I discover more about myself. I never knew that I can be happy over a small thing, and also to be strong enough to endure hardships. So it's true, in life, we're given a test that teaches us a lesson.

Of course, Year 2009 is awesome, minus the fact that there are some sorrow moments. I met new people in college, a new environment for me at that moment. Yes, I felt so lost at first but now I have the sense of belonging. PM8 rocks, it always does. Spending 1.5 years with them is never enough, but the thing is, I can do nothing to change this fact. Getting to know them is one of the best things which happened this year. They painted this chapter of my life with colours. Thanks guys, and we'll spend the remaining half year together in Year 2010. *grins*

Not to forget, a very different birthday celebration I had for this year. I doubt that I will ever forget about it also. Seriously, would you not remember it if your car gone missing on your birthday and you were blindfolded at night walking up stairs and more stairs, nearly hit the wall or fall down in every 5 seconds? Thanks to the awesome classmates and buddies, I had a great day.

There are many more memorable moments in Year 2009, but my memory is failing me. I doubt that you guys want to read a recap on all the events also, it would be a 10,000 words essay if I really do so. You can always refer to my archives, for you will see everything which happened in Year 2009 and also my random thoughts. You think that you know me well? Read, and see if you're wrong. ( By the way, there are some pending posts for Dec '09, will be posted up after I return from Bangkok. )

Last but not least, thanks to my friends, you know who you are, don't you? I wouldn't have made it through the hardships without them. I admit, I am a person who usually keep everything to myself. But they are always there, waiting for me to blurt out every single thing to them and give me strength to face the problems. I'm glad that I'm okay now, because I know the next challenge in life is awaiting me.

Let's wave bye to Year 2009 and put a wide smile on our face to welcome Year 2010!

It's Been Awhile

17.12.2009

To be very honest, it was a very random gathering. One day ( Don't ask me which, I dunno either ), I was thinking, "Why don't we have a gathering for Joyians '08 as well?". Yes, I put 'as well' because I was planning to have a gathering for the ex-Surians at that very moment. And obviously, it was much easier to meet up with the Joyians since we didn't contact each other for a year only ( Excluding those whom I've met before the gathering ).

So, after few days of texting and MSN-ing, we finally came to a conclusion, which was to have the gathering in Milwaukee Steak Corner on the respective day itself. Only half of the class turned up in the end, which means I didn't get to meet the other half. Pretty disappointed, but we should have another one real soon, hopefully all of them would be able to make it by then. =)

Kar Lin and I

I thought I was late, because I told them to be there around 7 p.m, whereas I only left my house when it was 5 minutes to 7. It was raining heavily that I can barely see the road also. What a day. But surprisingly, I was among the early birds. I guess I don't have to elaborate much also you'll know that the rest was pretty late, right? Haha.

June, Yours truly & Kar Lin

We looked like we were posing for the picture, right?
But, NO, we weren't. It was a candid shot. I like it though. =)

And us again, with the biscuit sticks.

And a picture taken with Yvonne and Yi Fei.
Both with Y as their initials, coincidence? =P

And half of the crowd.
And yeah, I'll name them during the group picture later.

And another half or maybe quarter, do the math yourself.

So, it was a Black and White day? :)

No, not now. Still incomplete.
Dang, naming game coming real soon.

Top: Kong Fai, Chun Yew, Jun Sheng, Min Yee, Mee Kuan, Yuen June, Kar Lin & Yi Fei
Bottom: Jaren, Chan Hui, Set Wern, Audrey & Yvonne.
Eh, why so imbalance? I should have seated down lah then! =P

And a picture with the Nenek!
I still remember that I once met her at the paying machine nearby Asia Cafe.
I gave her some coins since she didn't have enough, and she intended to pay me RM 1.
Fought with her for awhile to return her the RM 1, how childish. Haha.

Chan Hui

Jun Sheng

Kong Fai

Chun Yew

The girls then headed to Sungai Long for some drinks. Yes, drinks, but we were in Station 1. Oh, and also for ice cream. It was around 9.30 p.m, and we had ice cream. Now I find it pretty weird, but I don't care. Haha. We chatted, laughed, drank, ate and stoned for awhile and off we headed home. =)

To meet them before Year 2010, it was great! :)

Dreams

Do you still believe that wishes do come true?

Honestly, there are so many occasions which we would usually make a wish. When it is our birthday, we make a wish and cut the cake. When we see a shooting star, we close our eyes and quickly make a wish before it vanishes from our sight. We can even throw a coin into the wishing well to make a wish. And at times, people will always tell you, make a wish sincerely, and it will come true shortly.

But how many of them actually come true? I'm 18 years old, so I've made at least 18 wishes, taking in account only wishes made on my birthday. I don't wish for wealth, or any unrealistic things which I know wouldn't come true. Some of them really came true, but I did put in effort to make my dream a reality too. So, wishing really helps, or it actually doesn't? I don't know.

However, I find myself at a crossroad now. I dunno which path to take, and whether my decision will be the right one. One decision, and that's it, that's where I'm heading after this. Every now and then, I question myself, to stand firm or to listen to what the rest says. In the end, I chose to give up and to follow the path set for me. Now, some say that I should fight for my dream. Put yourself in my shoe, it is always easier said than done.

If I make a wish upon the star now, will it come true? Should I believe in the impossibles and give it one last shot? But there's a voice in my head, telling me that it wouldn't come true. Dang, life is never easy. I know there're contradictions, just bear with me for a moment. I guess, I've already stop believing. Goodnight world.

It Isn't Easy

Have you ever questioned yourself, "Why the 'Delete' button doesn't delete your files, but they're sent to the Recycle Bin, and can be restored whenever you want them to?".

Find it silly? Yes, it really is. But on second thought, doesn't it apply to us, humans too? At times, we choose to forget something, no matter how hard is it, we force ourselves to do so. Things that we 'manually' wanna forget are usually those which we do not hope to recall them anymore. Why? Because we would never want to fall down at the very same spot twice in life. It's as simple as it is. Hence, we will normally try to be as busy as a bee, hoping that at the very next second, those memories will no longer exist in our mind.

Sooner or later, yes, we really get to forget them. We wouldn't think about them before we sleep or right after we wake up. We can sing, dance, laugh and enjoy life like the rest. But it doesn't mean that they're forever 'deleted' from our mind. They are just sealed in a jar, safely guarded by a little fairy. ( Oh well, I'm only trying to put things easier for you to picture it. ) When nothing triggers them, they remain still, waiting for the day where we'll be strong enough to open the jar, recalling every tiny bits of them.

But the problem is, when do we have the courage to open the sealed jar of memories? Or I should say, how many of us actually have the courage to do so, knowing that we may not be as strong as we think we are?

Can't Wait For The Next

11.11.2009

PM8-ers headed out for food trip again, after so long.

Shirley was the one who suggested for a gathering elsewhere, since we were all facing AS final, and we needed a break. But that wasn't the main reason for the outing. Well, I guess you would know what's it if you continue reading. =P

Well, let's take a walk down the memory lane then. Do not blame me if I miss any of the details, because I'm pretty forgetful in fact. By the way, we set a dress code as well, dress for the ladies and something formal for the guys. And most of the girls were wearing heels on that day, and they walked all the way up with their heels. But I wore sandals, I forgot to change, it was in the car though. Sorry! =P

Left to right: Shirley, Jocelyn, Fiona, Ning, Wai Han, Tio & Mr. Peter

Left to right: Ms. Cindy, Li Jin, Melissa, Steph, Ms. Chong, Tsung Wai, Rachel & Yours Truly

And surprisingly, the traffic was smooth on that day. We took more or less 40 minutes from Subang to Langat Hill. I don't care if you think it's pretty long for you, because it's considered as fast for me, especially when your phone rang all the time throughout the journey, and with Tio mumbling in the car asking you to slow down even when you drove at a speed of 60 km/hr. Haha.

Steph & Mel were playing with Jin's Iphone and giggling non stop.

Chatterboxes! Haha.
By the way, look at the scenery behind.
I dunno who took the picture, but it is good. =P

Back to the main reason of this outing, it was to celebrate the September, October and November babies' birthday. We couldn't make it on the respective months because we were all busy with trials and finals. So, "sekali gus" we celebrated their birthdays. Happy belated birthdays to all of them. :)

But, Jin's birthday was on the exact day of the gathering!
Happy Birthday my dear, you know I sayang you. =)

Bought 2 cakes for all the birthday babies.

Li Jin :)

Ms. Chong's birthday was 2 days after Li Jin's. :P

All the birthday babies.
Top: Tsung Wai, Rachel & Ms. Chong
Bottom: Wai Han, Ms. Cindy & Li Jin
There should be more birthday GIRLS, but they couldn't make it.

September babies :)

October babies :P

And November babies :D

Group picture

This is the only small groups picture which I uploaded.
Why? Because it never fails to make me laugh, spread the laughter then. :P

And a candid shot of Mel & Steph.
I didn't know they were posing for the camera, so I asked what were they doing.
They didn't even answer my question because they were waiting for Tsung Wai to capture their picture first. Awesome classmates I have. Haha.

First attempt to take a group picture with the scenery, and obviously we failed.

Walking to another end for sightseeing.
Ms. Chong with Shirley and I and Mr. Peter posing behind. =P

Second attempt, oh well, at least better. =)

Tio, Ms. Chong wasn't your date of the day lah!
And I know that you know who I meant. Haha.

Shirley, Li Jin and Mee Kuan. =)

Wai Han, Yours truly, Ms. Cindy and Li Jin.

A very blur picture of PM8, but I don't care. Haha.

And there you go, the scenery. =P

And I'm pretty smart now. I uploaded every single pictures in my Facebook. Click here to view them. See, now I don't have to edit all of them and don't have to filter as well. Well, if and only if I do upload every single pictures to Facebook from now onwards. Haha.

Ray Turned Legal

10.10.2009

Ray was the last one among us, F.R.I.E.N.D.S, to turn legal. She held a birthday party in her house, and invited us over. The very same thing happened last year too, the only thing which made it different was, we're now 18 and no longer 17. And surprisingly, 7 of us were there. It was the first time we celebrated one's birthday all together. :P

As usual, the food was great! Ray's maid is really a good cook, never once disappoints us. I didn't take a picture of all the mouth-watering food, you may click here to see last year's food. They were more or less the same, and were equally delicious. :)

Set, Yours Truly & Bea

Took a picture with Kelly and Qian Qian, which is Ray's dog.
She's very adorable, but probably gained some weight throughout the year.
I couldn't carry her with ease now, but still, she's cute. :P

June & I

The birthday cake for the birthday girl.

And of course a picture of Qian Qian and I.

Bea & Qian Qian.
Why lah so unfair? Qian Qian wasn't looking at the camera earlier. =(

A picture with Karen too.

Finally managed to take a picture with Ray.
Wasn't available for pictures before this. Haha.

It's time to sing the birthday song by then. Her family was really anxious about it because the biggest surprise of the night was awaiting the birthday girl. Let's not talk about it first, I wouldn't want to spoil the fun now. You'll know what's the surprise later. =P

The star of the night.
Around 5 cameras flashing here and there.

I swear to God that I didn't exaggerate.
She actually made her wish for more than 3 minutes.
I guess she made WISHES, around 100 of them? Haha.

After she cut the cake, her parents gave her a present.
She unwrapped it and happened to see another layer of newspapers.
There she went, unwrapping every layer of them.
And guess what did she get in the end?

Yes, a car key!
Her dad bought her a new Suzuki Swift. :)

A kiss for her father. Aww, so sweet.

Ray and her new baby. =)

And finally, a picture with Qian Qian looking at the camera.

F.R.I.E.N.D.S

Happy Birthday!
